Welcome to my blog. I want to use my first post as an introduction and overview of what you can expect from me, and from tattyowl.co.uk. My name is Ashleigh, I am a failed artist, and I’m clinging on to being 28 years of age by a thread, as it’s my birthday on Sunday. At the moment I work in a supermarket. I want to use this blog to share my passion for fashion, baking, art, and all the other lovely things that I love.
As much as life should be about looking amazing, dining like royalty and feeling like a rock star, it is unfortunately more often about making ends meet, paying annoying and unnecessary bills (who needs gas and electricity anyway?) and planning out how to spend the imaginary lottery jackpot that you are definately going to win one day. Of course it goes without saying that such planning generally takes place whilst watching late night re-runs of Family Guy and eating baked beans straight out of the tin, before crying yourself to sleep at night wondering what it all means….
Oh, that last bit is just me then?
But if there is one thing that my pathetic whiny first world problems have taught me, is that you don’t need to be rich, famous, or extremely good looking to be able to look stylish, eat well and feel pretty awesome. You just need to be a bit more creative, that’s all.
The ultimate aim of Tatty Owl is to share the wealth of the bargain hunt, to teach you to make do and mend, and actually feel better off for it. I plan to share budget product reviews, hot deals on the high street, as well as DIY tutorials and general chit chat around subject matter of interest to others, who if anything like me are just trying to make saving money fun.
I just hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy creating it.
